ZRA starts collecting tolls, licences

ZAMBIA Revenue Authority (ZRA) has started collecting road tolls and road service licences at Kazungula and Chirundu one-stop border posts (OSBP) following Government’s decision to reduce the number of agencies to six in border facilities.
Government has started piloting the coordinated border management (CBM) model to simplify processes and procedures in the clearance of goods and persons in crossing points.
Under the new model, only six border agencies will be required to operate at the border while others will be inland.
Last week, the agencies that were removed from the borders signed delegation agreements with those that will have physical presence at the crossing points.
The agencies that will remain at the border are ZRA, Immigration Department, Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency, Port Health, Department of Quarantine and Phyto-sanitary Services, and National Livestock Epidemiology Information Centre.
Those that have been removed include Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development, National BioSafety Authority, Ministry of Tourism, Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) and Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority, among others…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/
