DPP seeks Chimese’s K91m

– State applies for ex-ZAF commander to forfeit money, property

THE Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has applied to have former Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Commander Eric Chimese’s money and properties worth over K91.4 million forfeited to the State.
The properties, which include nine furnished flats in Ibex Hill, farms in Eureka Baobab and Mungwi road, US$10,000, K90,000 and £100, are suspected of being proceeds of crime.
The DPP has filed an affidavit in support of originating notice of motion for an application for non-conviction based forfeiture order of tainted property.
The motion is before the Economic and Financial Crimes Court where Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) deputy director Lillian Mubialelwa filed a submission.
