THE court has heard that Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) president Edith Nawakwi, while holding a knife, allegedly warned farmer Milton Hatembo never to disclose that he sold a farm to President Hakainde Hichilema.
Mr Hatembo told Lusaka magistrate Amy Masoja yesterday that while pointing a 30-centimetre knife at him, Nawakwi questioned why he told lawyers that his farm was sold to Mr Hichilema.
The witness narrated that the former Cabinet minister warned him and his sister Pheluna not to “mention anything” as they would die if they did.
Mr Hatembo said Nawakwi made a throat-slitting gesture when speaking.
“Ndakayoowa maningi [I was very scared], aba [and my] sister [Pheluna Hatembo] bakayoowa [was scared too],” Mr Hatembo narrated in Tonga.
Nawakwi, 63, is accused of abducting and threatening to kill Pheluna and Milton Hatembo.
She faces four counts of kidnapping or abduction with intent to confine a person and threating violence…https://enews.daily-mail.co.zm/welcome/home
