Defence seeks clarity on classification of gulfstream case

FORMER Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretary Stardy Mwale and others have raised preliminary issues in the case against them relating to the purchase of the presidential gulfstream G650 jet.
Through their defence, the accused seek to know the classification of the case – whether it is an economic and financial crime or otherwise.
But the State has contended that the defence’s application is improperly before court, hence it should not be entertained, but that the case should proceed into trial.
