Student accused of stealing, attempting to sell child at K184 found with case

A FEMALE student accused of stealing a six-year-old boy and attempting to sell him at K184 and use the money to buy drugs is expected to open her defence next month after being found with a case to answer.
Habiba Tembo, 22, was yesterday scheduled to open her defence but the court hearing the matter was indisposed.
The case has been adjourned to February 14 this year for possible opening of defence and, unlike previously, the accused will this time be represented by a lawyer from the Legal Aid Board.
Tembo, of Kabwata, is appearing before Lusaka magistrate Constance Kasankala charged with child stealing.
