Nalumango to open agro conference

VICE-PRESIDENT Mutale Nalumango is tomorrow expected to open the 19th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme Partnership Platform (CAADP-PP) to be held from October 30 to November 2, 2023 at Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
And African Union Development Agency (AUDA), formerly known as New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), has commended Zambia for the leadership role the country is playing in initiatives that support food systems transmission.
The 19th CAADP-PP meeting will be held under the theme ‘Accelerating the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement in the context of CAADP Commitments for Safer and Healthier Diets’.
Speaking ahead of the CAADP-PP meeting, AUDA-NEPAD director of Agriculture, Food Security and Environmental Sustainability Estherine Fotabong said Zambia has recognised the need to increase and diversify the production of nutritious foods to tackle hunger and improve diets.
