12 local companies to benefit from Lumumba project

OVER 12 local companies will benefit from the US$22 million rehabilitation works on Lumumba Road in Lusaka being done by Avic International, which is expected to sub-contract 20 percent of the scope of works.
And Road Development Agency (RDA) board chairman Samuel Mukupa has said the agency is impressed with the quality of workmanship by various foreign contractors, but urged them to enhance knowledge sharing and technology transfer to benefit Zambian firms.
During an inspection of selected road projects in Lusaka on Tuesday, Avic International chief engineer Huang Juen informed Mr Mukupa and his delegation that local contractors will be engaged once the company has completed major works on the project.
