Zulu unveils World Cup squad

KASAMBA MOONGA, Lusaka
NATIONAL netball team coach Charles Zulu has selected 13 players for the 2015 Sydney World Cup.
Unveiling the team after a training session at National Sports Development Centre in Lusaka yesterday, Zulu said a formidable side has been assembled.
He urged players that were not considered to continue working hard.
Zulu named Juliet Kaputeni, Ida Mutetuka, Linda Sikana, Doreen Kasehela, Docas Nsolo, Helen Banda, Ethel Pamba and Mwale Kalonda as players that have been dropped.
“I am confident they [players] will lift the Zambian flag high in Australia. At least they have gained experience after competing at the Diamond Challenge in South Africa and the Africa Cup Championship in Botswana.  They are the same players that finished second to Zimbabwe at the Africa Cup,” he said.
Zambia finished last at the Diamond Challenge.
Zulu said the Zambian queens are ready for any opposition.
Zambia have been paired with Fiji, Uganda and Wales.
The tournament will run from August 7 to 16.
The final team:
Defenders: Margaret Mutafela, Anne Mukamba, Yvone Kaholo, Agness Sing’ambo and Petronella Bwalya.
Midfielders: Joyce Mwanza, Carol Moono, Winfridah Mwila, Naomi Changwe and Brenda Mwila.
Shooters: Lucy Jere, Elizabeth Bwalya and Diana Banda.
