ZRU reluctant to register RisingStars

THE Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU) is reluctant to register RisingStars Rugby Club ahead of the National Rugby League (NRL) season based on past experiences with newcomers in the league.
RisingStars is made up of officials and players with roots from the legendary Konkola but after getting frustrated with the happenings at the Chililabombwe club, they now want to be on their own.
Officials from RisingStars are said to have written to the ZRU expressing their desire to participate in the 2021 season, which is supposed to get underway in March all things being equal.
Their intentions to break away from Konkola prompted ZRU to call for a meeting last Saturday which was attended by Konkola and RisingStars officials in a bid to find an amicable solution to the problems in Chililabombwe.
