THE Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) raises over K1billlion after waiving all interest and penalties for taxpayers with outstanding tax returns and debts since the inception of the amnesty in the last four months.
ZRA commissioner general Kingsley Chanda said the amnesty on interest and penalties was introduced to enable taxpayers settle the principle liability they owed.
The authority has introduced the amnesty to run from April 24 to July 31, 2017, but was later extended by one month to give taxpayers an opportunity to harmonise their financial books.
