THE Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) has witnessed an increase in online tax platform payments of about 312,000 last year from 32,000 in 2016 due to growth in the number of financial institutions providing electronic services in the country.
Commissioner general Kingsley Chanda said discussions are underway with banks and other stakeholders in the financial sector to continue improving taxpayers’ access to e-services.
Mr Chanda said the continued measures that the authority is introducing will this year enable it to positively contribute to the country’s gross domestic product of about 17 percent higher than that of last years at 16.8 percent.
