ZNS impounds 25 maize-laden trucks

THE Zambia National Service (ZNS) has intercepted and impounded 25 trucks laden with about 19,000 bags of maize worth over K1.6 million, which was allegedly intended to be smuggled into a neighbouring country.
Lusaka Province permanent secretary Sturdy Mwale yesterday led journalists to inspect the impounded trucks at the ZNS garrison in Lusaka’s Chamba Valley.
Mr Mwale said the anti-smuggling squad constituted by President Lungu and headed by Secretary to the Cabinet Roland Msiska is working on a 24-hour basis to ensure national food security.
