MATHEWS KABAMBA, Kitwe
ZESCO United will today climb to the summit of the Super Division if they beat Nakambala Leopards in a rescheduled Week Two match in Mazabuka.
Second-placed Zesco have six points, one behind leaders Lumwana Radiants.
Having scored six goals and conceding one in the last two games, Zesco arte favourites to carry the day at Nakambala Stadium.
The Mazabuka outfit has scored two goals and conceded once.
Zesco thumped Nakambala 4-0 in Mazabuka and the Ndola outfit will be eager to get another win.
Both teams go into the match off the back of a successful weekend as Zesco triumphed 4-1 over Nchanga Rangers at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola while Nakambala edged Green Buffaloes 1-0 at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
Zesco coach Zlatko Krmpotic will rely on Jesse Were, Idris Mbombo and inform Lazarus Kambole.
The trio have scored a combined six goals between them.
Kambole is currently the Super Division top scorer with three goals. Mbombo has netted twice and Were has found the target once.
Buoyed by the 1-0 win over Green Buffaloes, Zesco have nothing to fear against Zesco.
Nakambala also knows that victory will move them into joint leadership with Lumwana.
Nakambala coach Mathews Phiri will hope that former international Ignatius Lwipa can provide the much-needed goals.
Lwipa netted the solitary goal against Buffaloes.
Midfielder Lameck Silwimba and Biuma Kashitu are the other players that can torment Zesco’s backline of Dauti Musekwa, Fackson Kapumbu, Ben Bahn and David Odhiambo.
