Zesco, Nigerien defender part ways

STEPHEN PHIRI, Lusaka
ZESCO United have parted ways with Nigerien defender Ben Banh.
Chief executive officer Justin Mumba said in an interview in Ndola yesterday that Banh’s contract was not renewed because they want to reduce the number of foreign players.

The club has 11 foreign players.

Mumba thanked Banh for his contribution to Zesco in the last two years.
Banh was part of the squad that reached the CAF Champions League semi-finals in 2016 and quarter-finals of the Confederation Cup last year.
He was instrumental in Zesco’s run to the Super Division title last year.
