Zesco climb to second position

ZESCO United yesterday dislodged Power Dynamos from second position on the MTN Super Division log after edging Lumwana Radiants

in a Super Division rescheduled Week Nine match in North-Western Province.
The victory pushed Zesco, who have three games in hand, to 35 points, two behind leaders Napsa Stars and two clear of third-placed Power.
Substitute Maybin Kalengo, who replaced debutant Ugandan striker Davis Kasirye on 55 minutes, netted the solitary goal.
Kalengo nodded in a Jesse Were cross.
BUFFALOES 1 BUILDCON 2
Green Buffaloes’ title aspirations suffered a setback after losing to Buildcon in a rescheduled Week 16 match at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka, SYLVESTER CHISHIMBA reports.
Midfielder Friday Samu put Buffaloes in front after connecting Lottie Phiri’s cross on 31 minutes.
Fidele Bosandja restored parity from close range in the 47th minute and John Makwata punished Buffaloes with a clinical finish in the 68th minute.
Buffaloes have 33 points, four better than Buildcon.

Zanaco thrashed relegation-threatened City of Lusaka in a rescheduled Week 10 match at Woodlands Stadium, ALEX NJOVU reports.
Ernest Mbewe nodded in Augustine Mulenga’s cross in the 21st minute and 12 minutes later defender George Chilufya doubled the advantage.
City’s Enock Jere pulled one back in the 70th minute with a stunning volley past Zanaco goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata before Mulenga added the third eight minutes from time.
Zanaco have 30 points while second-from-bottom City have 11.
