ZEMA to equip 1,000 agro-dealers with chemical management skills

THE Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) plans to train over 1,000 agro-dealers with chemical management skills to help farmers use them properly across the country.
In the last three years, ZEMA in collaboration with Croplife Zambia and Musika Development Initiatives Zambia has trained over 250 agro-dealers to increase the compliance levels.
The training is under phase one of the project.
ZEMA corporate affairs manager Ireen Chipili said over K500,000 has been invested in the project this year.
Mrs Chipili said in an interview at the just-ended Agricultural and Commercial show that the training is aimed at equipping agro-dealers in safe use and handling of chemicals.
