THE Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) – Henan Guoji Development Company Limited says it has completed the construction of about 373 houses from a total of 427 at the Silverest Gardens Housing Complex in Chongwe.
“To date over 373 housing units have been constructed including road networks, water and sewerage systems. The company is yet to construct the remaining 54 houses and the commercial and social facilities whose plans have already been approved,†he said.
The project has created employment for over 500 locals.
ZDA-Henan Guoji Development Company Limited general manager Guan Tingzhong said under the project Government contributed land while Henan Guoji provided finance, construction equipment, building materials, technology and expertise.
Mr Tingzhong said in Lusaka recently that over 200 houses were ready for handover.
He, however, said the company had a long-term permanent approach to its investments, as such it is actively seeking new partnerships with local companies to implement large-scale housing and property development projects.
“Henna Guoji has partnered with the Ndola City Council to undertake a housing project comprising over 2,000 units which will incorporate commercial and social facilities such as shopping mall and hotel among other facilities,†he said.
The Silverest project will comprise a total of 427 houses, commercial and social facilities as well as property management services.
Henan Guoji Industry Group Company Limited is engaged in real estate and infrastructure development. In China the company has 36 branches while in Africa it is present in Sierra Leone, Ghana, Guinea, Mozambique, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
