ZBF councillors brainstorm on All-Africa Games

ZAMBIA Boxing Federation (ZBF) councillors will on Saturday converge in Kabwe to strategise on the 2015 All-Africa Games set for Congo Brazzaville.
ZBF president Thomas Chileshe said the meeting will also be used to set up a marketing unit to help in the marketing of boxing.
Chileshe said in Kitwe yesterday that his executive is taking preparations for the 2015 All-Africa Games seriously to ensure Zambian pugilists win medals.
“This is a very important meeting for us. It will help us to come up with strategies on how best we can prepare our boxers for the All-Africa Games and World Youth Championships. We want to send at least eight boxers to Congo Brazzaville,” he said.
He said the ZBF will next month stage the first trials for the All-Africa Games dubbed national tourism selection tournament in Livingstone.
The 11th edition of the All-Africa Games will run from September 4 to19.
On the establishment of the marketing unit in ZBF, Chileshe said the meeting will identify people to spearhead the marketing of the sport.
Meanwhile, Government has procured a boxing ring.
Chileshe said the federation is grateful to Government for buying a boxing ring and pledged to look after it.
