ZaWARD trains women in tomato processing

DARLINGTON MWENDABAI, Lusaka
ZAMBIA Women in Agricultural Research and Development (ZaWARD) has trained over 100 farmers in tomato processing in Chongwe and Mwembeshi.
In Chongwe, female farmers were trained in how to dry tomatoes and make tomato powder, as well as processing tomatoes into tomato sauce.
ZaWARD national coordinator Iza Mutila said in an interview yesterday that the organisation, in collaboration with AgriWorth, trained female farmers in Chongwe district in how to make tomato sauce and how to construct solar driers to dry tomato slices.
