ZANACO coach Mumamba Numba says the 2-0 win over Nchanga Rangers is a morale booster ahead of Saturday’s Super Division Week Seven clash against Nkana.
Adamson Mulao’s brace on Wednesday pushed the Bankers to second on the log with 13 points, one behind leaders Lumwana Radiants.
“It is a good feeling to be in second position, we have managed to get a victory and this is a boost as we look forward to play Nkana over the weekend. Nkana are playing good football.
“The team did not play according to expectation but we have managed to get a victory and the three points are very important,” said Numba in an interview in Chingola.
Numba, who made five changes to the team that faced Egyptian side Al Ahly in last Saturday’s CAF Champions League group stage match in Alexandria, said some players needed to rest.
“We rested some of the players today so that the element of fatigue does not chip in, we had to change the team. The guys that played today did their best and that is good for the team,” he said.
And Rangers coach Bruce Mwape attributed the loss to lapses in defence.
“We played good football but the defence was shaky. We need to work on the lapses and see how it goes in the next game,” Mwape said.
Rangers are 17th on the log with five points.
