Zanaco loss to Casablanca worrying

Dear editor,
ZANACO FC should be ashamed of their performance in the Confederation Cup first-leg play-off after losing 2-0 at home to Raja Casablanca of Morocco.
What has happened to the team which gave hope to the Zambian soccer fans by beating Gambia Armed Forces home and away in the CAF Champions League?
Zanaco and its coach Numba Mumamba should strive to make a mark on the African continent by aiming at winning continental competitions and not concentrating so much on winning the MTN/FAZ Super Division, which they have done so already.
I see no reason why the team is failing to take home advantage of home games, even if the team it was facing has good reputation in African football.
Zanaco have no excuse for its poor performance in failing to convert goals at home considering the support it gets from fans and the calibre of its players.
Yes, Zanaco can overturn the 0-2 loss with three unanswered goals in Morocco and progress to the group stage.
It is, however, a tall order for the bankers.
CONRAD CHIKWETO
