Zanaco FC snatch Forest striker

MULWANDA LUPIYA, Ndola
HAVING scored only two goals in four CAF Champions League, Zanaco have snatched Forest Rangers striker Felix Nyaende ahead of the group stage kicking off on May 11.
The Super Division champions have scored two goals in two matches in the 2017 league campaign, which kicked off on April 9.
Nyaende was Forest’s top scorer with 11 goals last season and the Ndola outfit finished ninth with 43 points.
Forest coach Perry Mutapa and club secretary Wisdom Musonda confirmed Nyaende’s disappearance in separate interviews on Sunday.
Mutapa said Nyaende has not featured for Forest this season.
“Felix [Nyaende], I think, was in our plans but before the kick-off of the season last week in Lumwana, he was nowhere to be seen. I hear he is at Zanaco but that is for the chairman and the management to sort out,” Mutapa said.
He said Nyaende’s departure has left the Ndola side short of options upfront.
Nyaende formed a deadly partnership with Graven Chitalu, who has since trekked to Real Nakonde, last season.
The former under-20 star also had a stint at Power Dynamos and Nchanga Rangers.
Nyaende trekked to Forest in 2015 from Nkana.
And Musonda said Nyaende is at Zanaco but the executive committee has not sat to discuss his impending move to the Bankers.
Musonda said the Bankers snatched the player two days before the close of the transfer window.
Zanaco qualified for the Champions League group stage on away goals rule after battling to a 1-1 draw with Tanzanian champions Young Africans over two legs.
