Zambia’s trade deficit drops to K1.2 billion

KALUMBI

TRYNESS TEMBO, Lusaka
ZAMBIA’S trade deficit has reduced by about K1.2 billion, while the annual inflation rate has marginally declined by 0.1 percentage point, the Central Statistical Office (CSO) has said.

In October, Zambia recorded a trade deficit valued at about K885.2 million from over K2.1 billion in September.
CSO director of census and statistics John Kalumbi said the trade deficit was recorded because the country imported more in October than it exported in nominal terms.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
