CHIWAYA

MOSES WALUBITA, Lusaka
“FOR us, the hotel is a baby who has hit the ground running,” stated Minister of Tourism and Arts Charles Banda.
Dr Banda said this at the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony by Zambia National Visual Arts Council (VAC) and Hilton Garden Inn Lusaka Society Business Park.
Zambian artist Gift Chiwaya was given an opportunity to showcase his three sculptures. Two of them talk about ‘Ukwati ndi Mwambo’ (the traditions in Zambian marriages) and the other titled ‘Female Musician’ tries to appreciate and exalt a woman for her contribution to society.
Chiwaya’s artworks are displayed in Hilton Garden Inn Lusaka. He was born on May 24, 1985. After completing his secondary education in 2006, he went on to study Business Accounting at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA) in Lusaka.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
