VICE-President Inonge Wina is tomorrow expected in China to grace the `Zambia Week’, which is expected to strengthen ties between the two countries that are long-term political and economic allies.

“The `Zambia Week’ will be the first of its kind and will bring together technocrats from various government ministries, a business delegation, and Zambian artistes,” reads a statement released yesterday by the Vice-President’s office.

Zambia’s Ambassador to China, Winnie Chibesakunda, says some of the activities at the `Zambia Week’, set for July 26 to July 30, will be the signing of a memorandum of understanding to mark the beginning of the “twinning programme” which will see Lusaka and Sichuan provinces partner to enhance already existing government-to-government ties.
There will also be two business forums, site visits to major business firms, cultural programmes, fashion shows, crafts and art exhibitions, among other undertakings.
