ZAMBIA’S return to the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2015 will see them opening their campaign against two-time champions Nigeria.
In 2015, Zambia, drilled by Chris Kaunda, lost 3-1 to Nigeria in a group-stage match.
Zambia were last week drawn in Group B alongside Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa at the tournament kicking off on April 29 in Algeria.
“CAF has released the full schedule of the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations Algeria 2023 that will be played between 29 April and 19 May 2023. The opening match will see hosts Algeria play Somalia on Saturday, 29 April at the majestic Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers at 20:00 local time,” a CAF statement read on Monday.
According to the fixture, Ian Bakala’s boys will face Nigeria on April 30 at Chahid Hamlaoui in Constantine before taking on South Africa on May 3 CLICK TO READ MORE
