Zambia in K65m DFID boost

FREDSON Yamba.

STEVEN MVULA, Lusaka
THE British government has given Zambia K65 million as budget support, Ministry of Finance public relations officer Chileshe Kandeta has said.
Mr Kandeta said in a statement yesterday that the support will be channelled through Britain’s Department for International Development (DFID).
He said resident head of DFID Emma Donnelly confirmed this in a letter to the Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba and said the release of the 2014 budget support is based on Zambia’s impressive progress in several areas of cooperation.
Meanwhile, Mr Kandeta says Zambia’s two sovereign bonds that were issued in the international capital market continued to post positive performance.
