Zambia hosts chemicals trade indaba

GOVERNMENT, through the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA), is hosting the Rotterdam Convention Sub-Regional Designated National Authorities (DNAS) consultative meeting on the Final Regulatory Actions (FRAS) evaluation toolkit.
The objective of the Rotterdam Convention is to promote shared responsibility and co-operative efforts among parties in the international trade of certain hazardous chemicals in order to protect human health and the environment.
ZEMA acting director general Maxwell Nkoya said during the official opening in Lusaka yesterday that the meeting has been convened with an overall goal of strengthening the decision-making capabilities of countries in the scientifically sound life cycle management of the chemicals within the scope of the Rotterdam convention.READ MORE
