Zambia defender turns down offer

ZAMBIA defender Joseph Lungu has turned down an offer from the Slovenský Futbalový Zväz (SFZ) to play for the Slovakia under- 23 national team.
Lungu, 22, is on the books of FK Poprad in Slovakia.
“I am humbled that I was given an opportunity to play for Slovakia under- 23 national team. I was approached by the officials to consider playing for Slovakia in European competitions but I turned down the offer,” Lungu, who featured on loan for City of Lusaka in the Super Division last year, said in an interview yesterday from Proprad.
He moved to Slovakia in February this year on a three-year deal from Lusaka Youth Soccer Academy
