ZAMBIA Bureau of Standards (ZABS) has warned farmers to be wary when buying fertiliser in the 2017/18 farming season to avoid substandard products that might negatively affect their crop yields.
Last week, ZABS in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture conducted an investigation in Kasama to check on fertilisers being sold on the market which revealed that some of the products had expired.
ZABS head marketing and public relations Hazel Zulu said the expired fertiliser has been confiscated from the traders and is awaiting disposal.
