Zambia Airways gets regional wings

NKOMBO KACHEMBA, Lusaka
ZAMBIA Airways Limited has finally secured a Foreign Operator Permit (FOP) to enable it commerce regional flights.
This is according to a statement issued by first secretary for press- Tourism at the Zambian embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Inutu Mwanza.
The national carrier launched its operations in December 2021 and last year it announced plans to commerce regional flights to South Africa, which failed to materialise due to lack of FOP.
Zambia Airways is a joint venture between Ethiopian Airlines and Industrial Development Corporation Limited.
Now that permit has been secured, the national airline is expected to commence regional flights in the first quarter of this year.
