Zambia aims fists at Angola

THE international boxing tournament between Zambia and Angola gets under way today at the ongoing Agriculture and Commercial Show in Lusaka with Angola’s Cuban coach, Enrique Carrión Olivares, predicting victories for his pugilists.Olivares, who won the Amateur International Boxing Association (AIBA) bantamweight world championship in 1989, said Zambian boxers are known for their stubbornness but the Angolans have done their homework well.
“My boxers are ready. I know Zambian boxers are stubborn, they have power with a good fighting spirit….they don’t give up easily, so the tournament will be tough,” Olivares said in Lusaka yesterday.
