Zambeef chairman upbeat on firm’s growth

ZAMBEEF Products Plc has continued to grow its business despite economic setbacks like the depreciation of the Kwacha and disease outbreak experienced during the year.
During the year, the outbreak of cholera in January affected the sale of beef heads, bones and offal fat in the traditional outlets while the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in April affected dairy production.
In September, the Kwacha depreciated sharply by 19.5 percent against the United States dollar triggered by a sustained increase in pipeline demand for oil procurement.
Zambeef Products Plc chairman Jacob Mwanza said Zambia’s economy remained relatively stable for the majority of the financial year to September 30, 2018
