YOUR editorial in the Wednesday February 14 edition on Statutory Instrument number 10 of 2018 concerning street vending and public nuisances is on point.
It is good that you emphasised the need for its implementation. No law is worth passing if it cannot be enforced.
The makeshift structures on road frontages both in the central business districts and townships throughout the country are an eyesore. All those structures in which street vendors sell vegetables, roasted maize, etc. should no longer be in existence.
In fact, these places have no toilets. Where do the vendors go if they want to relieve themselves? The law is welcome because, with its proper implementation, sanity will return in the streets.
