World commends Zambia’s polls

CONGRATULATORY messages have continued pouring into Zambia on the country’s successful general elections and re-election of President Lungu with the latest coming from the United States of America (USA) and the European Union (EU).
US director of press relations office and acting spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau said the US welcomes the Zambian citizens’ democratic spirit, which was characterised in voting on August 11, and congratulated President Lungu on his re-election.
Ms Trudeau said in a statement issued in Washington DC yesterday that candidates in the just ended elections should show leadership by respecting the official results as announced by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).READ MORE
