OPPOSITION United Party For National Development Party (UPND) Kashiba ward councillor in Mpongwe, Copperbelt Province Jasper Ngweji has
urged Zambians not to politicise development but work with the government of the day to uplift the living standards of people across the country.
In an interview recently, Mr Ngweji said he is disappointed that some members of the Ward Development Committee (WDC) are politicising development.
“This is very bad. Time for politicking is over, as Zambians, we should come together and develop this country,” Mr Ngweji said.
He said some members of the committee were against the construction of the classroom block at Kabungo Community School which has enrolled about 78 pupils.
Mr Ngwenji said it is important that Zambians work together and embrace unity and love regardless of one’s political or religious affiliation.
“Let us work together and put politics aside if we are going to take this country forward in terms of development,” he said.
Meanwhile, the civic leader is happy that the Ndubeni, Kalukwiso and St Anthony roads have been graded with the help of companies operating in the area, such as ZAMBEEF.
He said the roads are economically beneficial to the people of Mpongwe as they are used to the transport crops such as maize and Soya beans, among others.
Mr Ngweji said with the works done so far, farmers will no longer face difficulties in transporting their farm produce.
