LINDA NYONDO, Lusaka
SIOMA member of Parliament Mbololwa Sibulwa has called for the establishment of a committee of women parliamentarians to champion their cause.
In an interview in Lusaka recently, Ms Sibulwa said the committee should be established to advocate issues that affect women parliamentarians.
“My appeal is that women parliamentarians need to be proactive to be heard,” she said.
Ms Sibulwa said the committee should be able to organise exchange programmes for the members to visit each other’s constituencies and encourage more women to aspire for leadership.
She said the female parliamentarians can also seek various platforms to encourage their fellow women to take up leadership roles.
