A TOTAL of 150 women of Misisi township have benefited from ‘A Cry of an Orphan Home (ACAH)’s women entrepreneurship and skill training project.
Philanthropist and entrepreneur Teddy Kalimanshi launched the project in February this year to empower women with entrepreneurial skills such as tailoring and catering.
Mr Kalimanshi said in an interview that most women in Misisi township depend on their husbands for their needs, a situation he has described of be a major contributor of gender-based violence (GBV) cases in the area.
He said women will receive sewing machines upon completion of the entrepreneurial classes and encouraged women to start saving money from their small earnings to enable them to commence their businesses immediately after training.
