Witness says Anglican priest wasn’t hurt

IN A contrasting testimony, a witness told a magistrate that the St Luke’s Anglican Church priest of Kalingalinga who claims to have been assaulted by a congregant was never hurt despite falling to the ground during a fracas.
Bridget Nkhoma, 58, of Kalingalinga Township, narrated on Friday that Father Boniface Baleni never sustained any bruises on the day he is alleged to have been beaten by Renard Mwale.
“When he fell, he never bled on the face, his face was just okay,” Ms Nkhoma testified.
But in his testimony, Fr Baleni has testified that Mwale allegedly slapped him in the face, leaving him with a swollen lip.
Mwale, a 62-year-old machine operator, is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The incident is said to have happened on CLICK TO READ MORE
