Wina explains Kwacha gains

STEVEN MVULA, Parliament
PARLIAMENT heard yesterday that the strengthening of the Kwacha against major convertible currencies is a result of austerity measures and investors’ renewed confidence in Zambia’s economy.
Vice-President Inonge Wina said the appreciation of the Kwacha must, therefore, be welcomed by all well-meaning Zambians.
“This is a positive development in the overall financial market. It is a sign of Government’s ability to manage the economy,” Mrs Wina said.
