Wildlife hunting ban lifted

CHARLES Banda.

NANCY MWAPE, Lusaka
GOVERNMENT has lifted the ban on wildlife hunting by residents and has put new regulations in place aimed at conserving animals.
Minister of Tourism and Arts Charles Banda said this yesterday when Resident Hunting and Conservation Association of Zambia donated foodstuffs worth K90,000 to community game scouts through the Department of National Parks and Wildlife.
Some of the new regulations include hunting during the day, for a specific time, licensed killing of stipulated animals and not shooting animals with young ones.
Mr Banda said Government was forced to ban hunting by residents two years ago because the practice had become rampant.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
