POLICE are looking into a case of a 22-year-old husband of Zambia Township in Kapiri Mposhi who is nursing an injury after his wife hit him with a beer bottle for coming home late from his night out on Saturday.
The husband, Darlington Bwalya, a taxi driver, decided to go for a drink after knocking off from work but his 20-year-old wife, Violet Ng’andwe, was not happy that he went home late and decided to mete out some instant justice.
Central Province police commanding officer Chileshe Mukuka said the wife allegedly inflicted a deep cut on the husband’s back and left hand.
“He also complained of general body pains as an empty beer bottle was used in the act to inflict injuries,” Mr Mukuka said.
He said the wife queried the husband on why he was coming home late but the response did not satisfy her and she went for the empty bottle, which she used to assault him.
