Letter to the Editor

Why waste food, goods charities can use?

Dear editor,
I AM an ardent reader who does not miss buying a copy of Zambia Daily Mail from Nationalist/ Independence Avenue traffic lights.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank Mr Godfrey Chitalu’s Comment on “Is ZRA’s Burberry road worth it?”
Indeed, it’s very, very disheartening to see how not only ZRA but also institutions like local authorities burn confiscated goods such as foods that are even fit for human consumption.
These are just thrown or burnt when we have hospitals, prisons and homes for vulnerable people who are in dire need of such.
Please, may this listening government or stakeholders involved look into this aspect.
CHAMA MORGAN FELIX
Lusaka
