I HAVE been wondering why we continue observing March 12 as Youth Day in Zambia when in fact 20 years ago, the United Nations officially declared August 12 as “International Youth Day”.
My considered view is that as a country, we need to align our day of commemorating the youth to the UN designated one, namely: August 12.
This will be in conformity with other internationally recognised days dedicated to women, children, labour etc.
