What to wear in wet weather

Fashion Trends with ANGELA CHISHIMBA
WE ALL have been looking forward to some cool weather and I am sure we would love a refreshing rainfall, but figuring out what to wear in this season is a whole different thing.

Since we are already in the rainy season, this type of weather this time of the year is notorious for bringing puddles and a lot of rainy water.
This is the right time to prepare our wardrobes and find anything that is rain-appropriate to rock this season.
The rainy season comes with cool weather and, therefore, you will have to make use of some of the winter clothes that you packed away.
Although the rainy season comes with rain boots, chic umbrellas, you name it, there are certain outfits that we can take from our winter wardrobe to supplement what is there.
Although dressing for the rain may seem just as dreary as the sky looks, it does not have to be.
Trust me there are plenty of ways to look chic when the weather is not on your side.
To show you just how stylish you can look in wet weather, here are some of the must-have outfits and accessories.
Boots, especially knee-high, are perfect for this weather as they will protect you from the splashes of water from some motorists. You can also make use of the rain boots.
This is a must-have for everyone in this season. A cute umbrella can be an excellent accessory. There are so many adorable and colourful umbrellas available, so there is really no excuse to stick to basic black ones. Buy a couple in your favourite colours if you live in a really rainy area and use them to add colour to your look.
A classic trench coat is always perfect for rainy weather. The trench coat is such a classic and essential piece that is perfect for all occasions, and especially rainy days.
Be careful of the materials you wear in the rain. Suede is off-limits in rainy season because water usually ruins it, and leather that has not been treated with a protectant can easily be damaged by water as well. Do not risk ruining your clothes; go with rubber, pleather, or protectant-treated leather shoes in the rain and leave your favourite suede handbag at home.
Have a blessed weekend.
