THE World Bank has provided K1.2 million to support construction of a rice irrigation facility and processing plant in Kalabo district.
Kalabo district commissioner Fridah Luhila said the funding is part of the climate resilience programme and will be utilised to incorporate various activities in the entire rice production and value chains.
“Rice production is increasing and we anticipate increased trade between Zambia and Angola once the Sikongo border road is tarred. With funding from the World Bank, we are putting up a K1.2 million rice irrigation facility at Libonda area.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
