WB approves $200 million for climate

YANDE SYAMPEYO, Lusaka
THE World Bank has approved a US$200 million Climate Investment Fund to Zambia to support reforestation.

Ministry of Development Planning permanent secretary Chola Chabala said the forestry investment project to be implemented across the country is an intervention towards the country’s contribution to climate mitigation and adaptation measures.
Mr Chabala said in an interview on Friday that deforestation, which affects parts of the country, is impairing sustainable livelihood of the people.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
