Warriors appoint Malikoni assistant coach

CECILIA ZULU, Lusaka
SUPER Division Kabwe Warriors have appointed Humphrey Malikoni as assistant coach.
Club secretary Davies Mwanza said in an interview in Kabwe yesterday that the former Warriors defender has been offered a two-year contract.
Nakambala Leopards relieved Malikoni, who was assistant coach, of his duties last season.
Malikoni joins the technical bench headed by Kampamba Chintu.
“We were short by one assistant coach. To that effect, we tasked the head coach [Chintu] to look for another person.   We have offered him [Malikoni] a two- year contract effective 1st February, 2017,” Mwanza said.
Happy Sichikolo is the first assistant coach while Tom Kampamba is goalkeepers’ trainer.
All the four coaches are former Warriors players.
“We are confident of positive results. The combination of the four coaches will yield positive results to the team…They know each other very well, they have played together before, and they also know our culture as a club as well as that of the fans.
“We expect no infighting among the coaches but instead we want them to fight for the league title,” Mwanza said.
Warriors finished sixth last season on 50 points.
