Wada’s bias for Zanaco, Zesco players wrong

Dear editor,
FOR all the good football Napsa Stars Football Club displayed, national team coach Wedson Nyirenda (right) has totally ignored all the good players from that team and has instead continued over-selecting players from Zanaco and Zesco United, the two clubs he has previously worked for.

It is unbelievable that at this stage of the season, Nyirenda will continue to show his bias by choosing four players each from Zanaco and Zesco for the formality World Cup qualifier against Cameroon next Saturday in Ndola.
With Zambia out of the race for the Russia 2018 World Cup, one would have expected Nyirenda to treat the tie against Cameroon like a friendly by balancing the team to motivate more local players to play for the country.
Nyirenda should have taken the opportunity to try out other players from clubs like Lumwana Radiants, who have been giant killers, Green Eagles, Konkola Blades and the like.
Nyirenda’s attitude towards other teams is not helping Zambian football because he is implying that the country only has good players from two teams, Zanaco and Zesco.
