Village chicken on Hybrid scheme

TRYNESS TEMBO, Lusaka
OVER 1,000 farmers are expected to benefit from the village [free range] chicken community empowerment scheme aimed at improving knowledge in poultry rearing.
Hybrid Poultry Zambia Limited managing director Huw Morris said the company has been prompted to introduce the scheme because the chickens are easy to manage and can be grown under different rearing conditions.
Mr Morris said the project will also increase income levels for the community farmers from the sale of meat and eggs, thereby creating wealth for individual families.
“The hybrid village chicken is a dual purpose bird with many positive attributes that are ideal for community and village conditions.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
